First Point of Contact at Your New Patient Visit
You may have been suffering from neck pain or even back pain for a while, before considering going to a Durban Chiropractor. Now that you’ve booked your first appointment you’re probably wondering what you can expect. From your first point of contact with us, whether it is a phone call or an email, you will be met with a friendly, professional response. Any questions you may have will be answered and you will be made to feel comfortable in your decision, knowing exactly what to expect.
When you first arrive, you will receive a simple form to fill out from our receptionist. Thereafter one of our Chiropractors will take you through to a private consultation area.
Your New Patient Consultation
The goal of your first visit is to find out as much about your current condition and medical history as possible. We want to understand how it is affecting your lifestyle and how we can best help you. We delve into your medical history to rule out any other serious underlying conditions. Is there anything in your past, or day to day life that is contributing towards your current problems? With this information, we can decide which tests and assessments we need to perform.
Your New Patient Examination
We then perform a non-invasive examination and assessment to determine whether you are a candidate for Corrective Chiropractic Care.
Our key focus at Align Corrective Chiropractic is posture. In order to assess this, we take photographs of your posture and use specific software to determine how you hold yourself and identify any problems that may be evident.
We then move on to perform specific neurological, orthopaedic and chiropractic assessments. This may include testing your reflexes, sensation, strength, movement and weight balance. With this information we can decide if X-rays are necessary. We have our own on-site digital x-ray equipment, which means that the process is quick, easy and affordable.
Treatment
Your treatment is not something we just rush into; we make sure to take the time to analyse your results in order to make an informed decision before performing any hands on treatment. In some cases, further evaluation is needed. We want to give you the best care possible, and this may mean needing to wait until your follow-up appointment before receiving any type of treatment
Follow Up Appointment
At your follow up visit your chiropractor will give you a thorough report of what they have found, what it means and what options you have for treatment. Please feel free to ask whatever questions you may have and we will do our best to answer them, to inspire you and to get you on to the road to recovery.
